Overview

The Novitec Tuning Group has been responsible for some of the sickest tuning programs attached to the Ferrari and Maserati brands. That’s in large part due to the success of its Rosso and Tridente tuning brands. But in 2013, Novitec decided to branch out and create another sub-brand that would be dedicated to that other Italian supercar brand, Lamborghini. Hence, Novitec Torado was born. In short order, Novitec Torado has certainly lived up to its hype, thanks in large part to impressive tuning kits for the Aventador and the Aventador Roadster. Now that Lamborghini has released the Huracan, Novitec Torado has followed suit with a tuning kit for Lambo’s newest supercar.

The program reflects the kind of attention to detail that Novitec Rosso and Novitec Tridente are known for. Novitec Torado prepared a comprehensive aerodynamic program that adds to the Huracan’ s visual looks, as well as its performance capabilities. The tuner even has wheel options for the Aventador to go with a suspension kit that helps the Huracan adjust to the extra power it’s now carrying.

Overall, Novitec Torado’s program for the Huracan takes a page from its Rosso and Tridente counterparts to showcase what Novitec can do to a Lamborghini. The sub-brand may be a relative neophyte compared to other Novitec tuning brands, but it has been able to adapt quite nicely to the standards set by its cousins.

Unfortunately, this particular kit for the Huracan is only available in limited quantities.

Exterior

Novitec Torado is arguably one of the most meticulous tuners in the business today. That much is evident in the extensive aerodynamic package given to the Huracan. The tuner even utilized wind tunnel testing to ensure that the shape and design of the individual aero components are up to par. All in all, there are over 20 individual aero components available for the Huracan, each serving a function of improving the supercar’s aesthetics and performance capabilities. Some of the more prominent components include a front spoiler lip, rear wing, diffuser, roof air scoops, and side flaps. All these items are made from carbon fiber. The kit also has a number of carbon fiber covers for the engine, front lip, and the Huracan’s rear-view camera.

The Lamborghini tuner is also offering a variety of wheel and tire combinations, all of which are matched directly to each tuning project so as to eliminate any need for adjustments to the original setup. All wheel sizes measure 20 inches and are available in a Wheel-Star design in a number of different finishes. All the available wheels are shod in Pirelli P-Zero tires, measuring 255/30 R20 in the front and 355/25 R21 at the back.

Interior

As extensive as the exterior modifications are, Novice Torado surprisingly kept the Huracan’s interior untouched. It’s admittedly a little disappointing given how much attention was paid on making the supercar’s exterior look the way it does. But, I’m not going to start questioning Novitec Torado’s decision-making. If it feels that the Huracan kit has more to give by keeping the cabin intact, then it must have a reason for doing so. Either way, it’s not like the new Lambo needs too much dressing up. It already looks fantastic the way it is.

Drivetrain

The engine modification on the Lamborghini Huracan is pretty straightforward, presumably the way Novitec Torado intended it to be. Work on the Huracan’s 5.2-liter, V-10 only consists of a supercharger conversion that helps bring the supercar’s output up to 860 horsepower and 708 pound-feet of torque, an increase of 250 ponies and 295 pound-feet of torque. That’s the equivalent of a hot hatchback’s total output!

Novitec Torado didn’t say how this drastic performance increase will affect the Huracan’s performance times, but if I can make an educated guess, the Lambo’s standard 0 to 62 mph sprint time of 3.2 seconds and top speed of over 202 mph will pale in comparison to what this Novitec Torado-tuned Huracan can do. It’s not out of the question to see this beast of a machine hit 62 mph in under three seconds and spit out a top speed of around 217 mph. That would put it in some really impressive company, wouldn’t it?

To help optimize all that power, Novice Torado is also adding a power-optimised exhaust system that customers can avail either with flap regulation or without one.

Conclusion

If there’s one thing that Novitec Torado has shown in its relatively short life, it’s that it has proven to be more than capable of living up to the obscenely high standards set by both Novitec Rosso and Novitec Trident Trident e. I personally appreciate the wealth of aerodynamic components this kit has. The dual-purpose of improving the car’s looks and its performance capabilities is the kind of killing-two-birds-with-one-stone strategy that I can get onboard with.

Add that to the impressive engine upgrade that puts the car’s power to 860 horsepower and you have a tuning kit that’s worthy of its name.
